Sports-hall and multipurpose facility at its best
Recently, the August-Schärttner-Halle in Hanau/Germany received a new REGUPOL dynamic SR sports-hall floor. A regular 4-lane 200 m athletic track surrounds the infield which has a size of 1,730 sqm. Primarily school sports and athletic training are being practiced at this facility. Across the point-elastic REGUPOL sports-hall floor a 60 m sprint track is marked. This, together with the 200 m track serves the local runners as a training ground.
As the runners do wear spiked-shoes also during their indoor training, the entire sports-hall floor must be spike resistant. A typical indoor sports-hall floor cannot fulfil this requirement, as spikes would destroy the wearing surface.
Project overview
This is when REGUPOL dynamic SR comes into play. This innovative sports-hall flooring system got all the required properties of a traditional sports-hall floor. It is point elastic, provides good shock absorption, is seamless and got a smooth surface that is ideal for all ball games as well as floor gymnastics for instance. However, due to its extraordinary polyurethane wearing surface it is spike proof according to DIN 18 035. All common school-sport activities as well as the 60 m sprints with spiked shoes can be held without a problem. Further, the runners that use the 200 m track do not have to worry about damaging the sports-hall floor when getting off the track.
But this is not all the abuse this floor must be able to withstand. Numerous cultural events are commonly being held at this facility as well. The use with street shoes, the equipping with tables and chairs, displays, stages and other structures do not represent a problem to this floor. REGUPOL dynamic SR is extremely resistant to mechanical loads.
