Community School in Costa Rica

with REGUPOL sports hall flooring

La Paz Community School in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, was founded in 2007 and provides bilingual education from Kindergarten through to year 12. The curriculum is taught in two languages (Spanish and English) and includes the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, which combines high academic standards with social responsibility and environmental protection. “La Paz” means “Peace” and reflects the school’s focus on cultural understanding, community spirit and sustainability. An important aspect is the students' involvement in local projects, which strengthens their connection to the community and integrates Costa Rica's natural environment into their education.

To entrench the spirit of sustainability in their sports activities, too, La Paz School has chosen to work with REGUPOL. In Central and South America, sports facilities are usually built semi-open. This often means without any full length external walls but with an extensive roof overhang. Nevertheless, the floors can still be affected by moisture in extreme weather conditions. So for this project, 1,062m² of our REGUPOL dynamic classic 8+2 floor system were used, because – unlike wood, PVC, linoleum and such – this material is weather-resistant. It also has a range of other benefits to offer: it’s very durable, slip-resistant, provides protection for the athletes and has good ball rebound characteristics. And with its seamless polyurethane wear layer, this floor is extremely easy to clean and maintain.

REGUPOL dynamic classic is a genuine multi-purpose sports hall floor. It provides kids and teenagers with the perfect sports experience. And it can even be used to host other school events, as the floor can easily withstand chairs, tables and people walking across it in normal street shoes.
