An unprecedented athletics facility with REGUPOL sports surfaces
Located in Kapchorwa district, the Teryet National High Altitude Training Centre is situated at an altitude of about 2,555 metres above sea level, which is ideal for training endurance sports such as long-distance running. Where elite athletes optimise their endurance and athletic physique, they now do so on REGUPOL track and field surfaces.
The most widely installed running track surface
REGUPOL champion AG 4.0 is the running track surface, which our REGUPOL technicians have laid on the new 400 m running track. The surface is characterised by its uniform physical properties over the entire running track. This is ensured by the hybrid construction method of prefabricated base mat and wear layer applicated on site; A specialityof REGUPOL. The functionality and durability of our hybrid surfaces are guaranteed for years, even in Uganda's mild tropical climate. The running track received the Word Athletics Class 2 certificate.

REGUPOL jogging tracks for medium and long distance training
Another highlight is the 3 km long illuminated jogging track, because the terrain, located in a national park, offers the best conditions for depicting slopes, straights and bends. The jogging track consists of a yellow REGUPOL champion AGMsurface.
We developed the REGUPOL champion AGM running track surface especially for the training of long and medium distance runners and it is noticeably more elastic than other track surfaces. The elastic and even surface, the associated lower risk of injury and the durability make this type of jogging track the ideal training surface.
Best training conditions on REGUPOL track and field surfaces
Other sports such as football and rugby are also accommodated in the training centre. Günter Lange, Special Presidential Assistant (Education and Sports) of Uganda, describes his "brainchild" project as "unprecedented" for Africa and beyond. He is sure that the application of sports science in the construction of the sports floors will help to further enhance the performance of Ugandan athletes. The registrations already received from international athletes for hypoxia training, indicate that the new functional facility will be used globally.
